The Data Window controls the observed values of first arrivals at the geophones and optionally their uncertainty.
The spreadsheet of values comprises most of the window. Listed is the geophone number, the observed arrival time for both the forward and reversed shots and their uncertainties (if that option is chosen in the Preferences Window). Clicking on this spreadsheet and then clicking on the value to be changed will allow you to edit that value. Tabs will move you forward through the list; shift-tab will move backwards. Values and the Plot Window are changed when the cell being edited becomes inactive (by selecting another cell or another window). Clicking on the header at the top of a column will sort the fits by values in that column. Column widths can be resized by clicking on the dividers between headers.
You can paste model times (the times calculated for the model as shown in the Model Window) into the data window using the command in the Edit Menu. This can be useful for seeing how different models might produce similar arrival times for a particular geometry. You can copy the picks to the clipboard (Edit Menu) and print the data picks (File Menu). Data copied to the clipboard will often paste properly into a spreadsheet program like Excel.
The RMS Misfit at the top of the window is the root mean square of the differences between observed and calculated values and is updated when calculated or observed values are changed.
In v2.1 and later:
"Import delimited file..." option allows you to import a plain delimited text file with data. The new data can either be merged with the existing data or overwrite it. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored as comments. This file must have forward observed times and/or reversed observed times. It optionally can have uncertainties for the time picks and the geophone number. Geophone numbers should not repeat. If both forward and reversed times are present, ideally they should be from the same geophone (i.e., geophone 1 should normally have the earliest forward time and the latest reversed time); deviations from this will prompt confirmation from the user. If geophone numbers are present, geophones need not be in order in the file. The dialog for the import allows the user to indicate which columns in the text file correspond to which items. The column of any item not present in the file should be left blank. Note that distances are not imported but set in the Model Window.
